Audio visualizer
Jelínková, Jana ; Schimmel, Jiří (referee) ; Říha, Kamil (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to create an audio visualizer. That means an object, whose parameters will be changed in real time based on chosen parameters of an audio. The first part of this thesis deals with different kinds of audio visualizers through history till today and also deals with some artistic theories about visualization. The second part deals with the main solution of the visualizer in Pure Data and principles used for audio processing and also describes development of an external for Pure Data.
Experimental Software Musical Instrument on Android Platform Combining Sampler, Synthesizer and Sequencer
Kučera, Karel ; Kavan, Jan (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is the realization of the application as an experimental software musical instrument on the Android platform. The implementation is partly based on the draft elaborated in semester work. The application is designed for tablets and smartphones. It combines functions of sampler, sequencer and synthesizer and contains built-in effects. With this features, it is possible to create new sounds, sequantions and songs. The applications is programmed by visual programing language Pure Data. The graphic interface is created by the MobMuPlat platform. The thesis is consists of three parts. The first part is a theoretical introduction, where are discussed, the theory of digital audio signal processing, principles and types of sound signal synthesis, effects and electronic instruments. Furthermore, the Pure Data and MobMuPlat platform features. The second part is an updated design of the graphical interface and there are discussed the functions of individual graphic elements. The third part describes implementation of the application by Pure Data
Experimental Software Musical Instrument on Android Platform with Ability to Control Parameters by Text Conversion
Rychtecký, Václav ; Indrák, Michal (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
The purpose of the thesis is to create a mobile application on the Android platform, characterized by creation of sound using a text captured by a built-in camera of the device in combination with synthesizer, sequencer and sampler. The implementation is partly based on a design prepared within a semestral thesis and is divided into several parts. The first part briefly describes the types of syntheses, the Android operating system, the Pure Data programming language, MIDI and the Android library for controlling Pure Data. The second part deals with the design of the application and the third part describes the implementation and especially the functionality of the application which is created using the programming language Kotlin and IDE Android Studio from JetBrains in combination with the language Pure Data.
Experimental hardware musical instrument demonstrating possible means of colour sonification
Rezek, Václav ; Jirásek, Ondřej (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
The goal of this thesis was to design and build an experimental musical instrument SuperDuperRainbowThing. The experiment nature of which lies in sonification of the colour spectrum. The hardware is built using Arduino microcontroller and a single board computer Raspberry Pi. Software communicates with the hardware via a MIDI protocol and is written in Python programming language and patched in Pure Data graphical environment. The instrument creates a sound output based upon colour selected by the user in real time.
Experimental Software Musical Instrument on Android Platform Combining Sampler, Synthesizer, Effects processor and Sequencer
Bezůšek, Marek ; Schimmel, Jiří (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to design and realize experimental software musical instrument on Android platform, combining sampler, synthesizer, effects processors and sequencer. The application is designed for smartphones. The application's experimental approach is in granular synthesis applied on recorded sounds with a combination of synthetic sounds produced in wavetable synthesizer and with applied effects.
Software Guitar Looper with Remote Control
Kalník, Jan ; Říha, Kamil (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with creating a software guitar looper in a visual programming language called Pure Data and also building a specific remote controller for it. The remote cont- roller will be based on a MIDI protocol. As a part of the software, there will be a special aligning algorithm, that will take care of precise alignment of the created loop on beat in the way that no other intrusive rhythmical or tempo related elements are present.
Experimental Software Musical Instrument Based on Granular Synthesis and its Spatial Distribution
Bateško, Tomáš ; Indrák, Michal (referee) ; Dlouhý, Dan (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to create experimental software instrument based on granular synthesis and convolution, capable of spatial distribution of individual grains and ability to control them in real-time over network by multiple users simultaneously. Sound source is created in Pure Data and graphical interface was built using web technologies such as Node.js and p5.js
Real-Time Wavelet Transform in Pure Data
Zemánek, Karel ; Schimmel, Jiří (referee) ; Rajmic, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelors thesis considers of wavelet transform realization in the real-time in Pure Data. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the theoretical minimum of wavelet transform. The second part is devoted to program Pure Data itself. You can see simply patches and also instruction for external programs compact to PD. The third part is devoted to realization of wavelet transtorm in Pure Data program. It contain specific algorithm for wavelet transform calculation and description of exist program.
Hardware module for interactive control of projects in PureData
Ladislav, Richard ; Krajsa, Ondřej (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the concept and design of a motherboard used to connect a range of peripherals to the Arduino UNO R3 microcontroller, which is used for controlling interactive projects in the Pure Data programming environment. The board includes a slide potentiometer, a rotary encoder, two double-pole switches, 8 LED diodes, 8 buttons, a piezoelectric speaker, and an electret microphone. The peripherals used in the implementation of this project have been supplemented with the necessary circuits and are permanently connected to the input and output pins of the microcontroller. The thesis also includes code written in the Wiring language and basic patches created in the Pure Data environment, which are used for testing the individual peripherals.
